Dr. Atkinson is the Medical Director at Macon Occupational Medicine. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a Masters Degree in Genetics from the University of Missouri. He received his Medical Degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He is currently enrolled in the Masters in Public Health in Occupational Medicine Program at the University of Wisconsin. He has practiced in both occupational and environmental medicine and urgent care since 1979. In 1987 he owned 3 facilities with 7 full-time physicians and 50 ancillary staff providing both urgent care and occupational medicine. Before coming to Macon Occupational, he was the Medical Director at Skaggs Occupational Health and Urgent Care Plus in Branson, Missouri.
