Macon Occupational Medicine would like to thank our partners from Coca Cola, Academy, FedEx and Nichiha for joining us at the Macon Economic Development Commission and Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce 2017 Workforce Summit.
The Macon Economic Development Commission and the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2017 Workforce Summit Thursday, August 17 at the Goodwill Anderson Conference Center, on Eisenhower Parkway, in Macon.
“The purpose of this summit is to bring the business community and workforce partners together to create a more vibrant economy by seeking new ways to meet the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s students and workers,” said Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Mike Dyer.
The attendees learned about working with the Macon Transition Center’s Re-entry program to find employees and the tax advantages of utilizing that program. They also learned about programs designed to assist them in hiring veterans and have a chance to meet one on one with agencies and institutions that can connect them with student interns, apprentices and many other resources.”

Functional Capacity Evaluations
Macon Occupational Medicine is dedicated to a comprehensive and effective approach to management of work injuries. Not only do we provide effective and immediate care of the musculoskeletal aspects of work injury, we now have increased our effectiveness in performing Functional Capacity Evaluations.

Impairment Evaluations
MOM will concentrate specifically on the area or areas of impairment. For example, if the lumbosacral spine is the only area of impairment, then we will concentrate testing procedures to that area only. Our evaluation includes a comprehensive history and physical evaluation to the area(s) of impairment.

In our continuous effort to offer a “one-stop shop” for occupational medicine, Macon Occupational Medicine is in the process of introducing an Employee Wellness Program for industries in Central Georgia.
