The rate of drug test “positives” hit a 14-year high in 2018 with marijuana topping the list of the most commonly detected illicit substances. Another alarming finding is that post-accident “positives” increased throughout the U.S. workforce outpacing all other testing reasons, including pre-employment screening.
The changing landscape of state marijuana laws, developing information on the health impacts of marijuana ingestion, and its increased use have created a perfect storm of confusion for some employers and their workplace drug testing programs.
The 2019 Drug Free Workplace Seminar sponsored by MOM will feature guest speaker Karen Tinker from the Council on Alcohol and Drugs. Not only will you find the information presented to be beneficial to you and your company, but the event will also satisfy your annual continuing education requirements as well.
As we all know, attracting and hiring the right employee is an on-going challenge. Utilizing pre-employment drug screening with a random test program will definitely assist in recruiting and maintaining the best workforce for your company.
